I’m an Assistant Professor of Philosophy (tenure-track) at
Colorado College
.

Previously, I taught at Colby College, and before that, I completed a Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of California, San Diego. At UCSD, I wrote a dissertation on Kant’s teleology under the direction of Clinton Tolley and cultivated interests in the history of Latin American Philosophy with the guidance of Manuel Vargas. I was born and raised in Miami, FL.

As a researcher and teacher, I blend the traditional (Kant, Modern European Philosophy, Continental Philosophy, Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy) with the non-traditional (Latin American and Latinx Philosophy). My published work has appeared in The Review of Metaphysics, Studies in History and Philosophy of Science, the Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism, Notre Dame Philosophical Reviews, and other venues. I have also won the American Philosophical Association’s Essay Prize in Latin American Thought (2025), the American Society for Aesthetics’ Irene H. Chayes New Voices Award (2025) and Oga Po’Geh Prize (2023), and the Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy’s Inter-American Philosophy Prize (2024 & 2023). When I’m not writing, reading, or teaching philosophy, I play my bass guitar, make movies, and root for my favorite NBA team,
the Miami Heat
.
